Anita Moore Studio

       Original paintings on canvas
Anita Moore was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma the youngest of three. From an early age, she displayed a passion for the arts, starting music lessons at the age of 6 and beginning her art education in elementary school. She attended Northeastern State University, majoring in art with a primary focus on painting. After receiving her first degree, she attended the University of Tulsa receiving a second degree in opera performance and singing with the Tulsa Opera Company while continuing her art studies.

Early influences include painters such as Monet, Klimt, Picasso, Kahlo and Gauguin; she is also inspired by the powerful Native American art that flourishes in Oklahoma. While viewing works of master painters during a visit to Italy and Greece, she was moved to explore paint in a traditional manner and focusing on an impressionistic style of painting although she enjoys experimenting with many styles. Anita works primarily in acrylic on canvas.

She is currently working on a series of portraits and also takes on private commissions. She recently began teaching art classes to nursery school children using a unique pedagogy that educates the youngsters about the great masters of art by working through  projects that relate to those artists.

Anita continues to sing, performing in several concerts each year as well as teaching private piano and voice lessons.

Anita resides and works in New York City.
